Marilyn Kay Smith, age 61, of Carmi, passed away Friday, November 4, 2011, at Ridgway Rehabilitation and Nursing in Ridgway. She was born November 11, 1949, in Seymour, IN the daughter of William Albert and Virginia Margaret (Rayl) Smith.
Marilyn had worked for many years as a sub-operator in the mines. She loved to read and play bingo.
She is survived by a son, Jack Lewis Greene of CA; a daughter, Tammy Schrimpsher of Carmi; a brother and sister-in-law, Thomas H. and Diane Smith of Poncha City, OK; six sisters and three brothers-in-law, Carolyn Fitzsimons of Carmi, Virginia L. and Jim Shere of Welch, OK, Martha M. and Lamar Jones of Ely, NV, Sherry L. Smith, Diana Lynn Smith, and Rita Jean and Andrew Guthrie, all of Anderson, CA; thirteen grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren
She is preceded in death by her parents; a son, David Lewis Smith; and a brother, William R. Smith.
