Scott J. Pickle
Scott J. Pickle, age 59, of Maunie, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2011, at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado. He was born March 5, 1952, in San Pedro, CA, the son of Aubrey Carroll and Gretchen “Alma” (May) Pickle. He married Karen Holtzclaw on October 30, 1993, in Hardin County, IL, and she survives.
Scott was an EMT, a mechanic, and also a truck driver. He was a Purple Heart Army Veteran who served in Vietnam and Korea. He loved working on cars and restoring older homes. He especially loved dirt biking in the desert.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; his mother, Alma Stenger of Kirksville, MO; a son, Gregory Scott Pickle of Maunie; three daughters and a son-in-law, Robin and Denny Bowden of Luray, MO, Heather Baker of Joplin, MO, and Brittany Pickle of Kirksville, MO; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Thomas and Carol Pickle of Lakewood, CA, and Aubrey Carroll “Chip” Pickle Jr. of Long Beach, CA; a sister and brother-in-law, Vicki and Tom Lloyd of Kirksville, MO; six grandchildren, Zachary Scott Pickle, Jacob Haley, Michael Bowden, Lindsey Bowden, Kaitlyn Bowden, and Caleb Bowden. He is especially loved and will be missed by his Holtzclaw family.
He is preceded in death by his father, and a step-father.
A private family service is planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans and may be mailed to Stendeback Family Funeral Home/Kittinger-Fair 200 S.
