Ruth Ann Murphy

   Ruth Ann Murphy, age 67, of Norris City, passed away Friday, December 2, 2011, at her home, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Ruth Ann Fish on December 14, 1943 in Walworth County, WI, the daughter of Raymond and Marjorie Fish. She married Eugene James Murphy on September 25, 1971, in Lake Geneva, WI, and he preceded her in death December 24, 2006.

   Ruth is survived by her two sons, James Douglas Murphy and Patrick Vern Murphy, both of West Virginia; three grandchildren, Christopher Murphy and Kathleen Brown, both of West Virginia, and Joseph Murphy of Virginia; four great-grandchildren, Ayrlynn and Emma Brown of West Virginia, Josh and Seth Murphy of Virginia; seven sisters, Roxanna Johnson of Norris City, Enid Carper of palm Bay, FL, Mary York of Lake Geneva, WI, Gail Knap of Bella Vista, AR, and Doris Sopher, Betty Tueting, and Esther Puhl, all of Elkhorn, WI.

   In her usual fashion, She spent her last days making sure that her children had as easy a transition as possible. She went as quietly and peacefully as she could and requested that there be no funeral service or visitation. Stendeback Family Funeral Home/Kittinger-Fair in Carmi is in charge of arrangements.
