Louise Mecum
Louise Janelle Mecum, age 49, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born September 29, 1961 in Kingsville, TX, the daughter of Franklin D. Mecum and Sandra K. (Henson) Knight. Louise was a homemaker and was near graduating from Ivy Tech when she became ill. She was a member of the Church of God in Evansville, IN.
She is survived by a mother and step-father, Sandra and Bert Knight; a brother, Frank Mecum, Jr. of Kentucky; a sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Tom Poole of Carmi; two nephews, Joshua Owen and Jacob Poole; and a niece, Megan Mecum.
She is preceded in death by her father, Franklin D. Mecum in 2002; an infant daughter, Sandra Louise; and her grandparents.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 5, 2011, at 2:00 pm, at Stendeback Family Funeral Home/Kittinger-Fair in Carmi. Visitation will be held from noon until the time of service in the funeral home chapel. Burial will take place in Kuykendall Cemetery in Carmi. Condolence message This is Val ( David's sister ). I just wanted to tell you all how sorry I was to hear the news of Jan's passing. It has been a few years since I have seen Jan, but she was my sister-in-law for many years and I have a lot of good memories of her. I know she had a rough life and that she is in a better place now with her little girl. I pray you all know peace.
