Charles Ray Little

Charles Ray Little, age 81 of Carrollton , died Thursday morning April 28, 2011 at the Jerseyville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center . He was born April 11, 1930 in Roodhouse the son of Charles Thomas and Bonnie (Tucker) Little. He married Doris S. Stendeback on November 27, 1956 at the Carrollton First Baptist Church .

           Charles Ray worked for 30 years at McDonald Douglas retiring in 1988. He was a 1948 graduate of Roodhouse High School where he excelled in all sports during his 4 years there. He enjoyed golfing, mushroom hunting and gardening after his retirement. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of the Eldred American Legion.

           He is survived by his wife Doris; 1 son, Tony Little of Tampa, FL; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Jody and Sid Norton of Altanta, GA; 4 grandchildren, Darbie (Jay) Cooper, Bailey Dixon, Ashley Norton and Lauren (Derrick) Muzzin. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Bud Little and 1 sister, Maxine Morgan.

           Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday May 1, 2011 at the Carrollton First United Methodist Church with Rev. Sara Brown Officiating. The visitation will be from 2p.m. until time of services. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday May 2, 2011 at Carrollton City Cemetery with military rites being conducted by the Eldred American Legion. The Stendeback Family Funeral Home of Carmi, IL and the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton are in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left at kittinger-fairfuneralhome.com.
