Ernest C. James
Ernest C. James, age 83, of Carmi, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2011, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital. He was born January 5, 1928, in Dogtown, the son of Harley I. And Lora (Frymire) James. He married Mable Mae Webb on October 6, 1951, and she preceded him in 1987. Ernest operated a rig in the local oilfields.
He is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Ernest and Debbie James, and Harold Wayne James; two daughters, Laura Sullivan and Joann Bryant; five brothers; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of Carmi; and a special grandson, Ernest Wayne, of Carmi, whom Ernest and Mable adopted.
He is preceded in death by his wife Mable; his parents; step-son, Wendell; two daughters, Janice Rose and Ernestine, who passed away during childbirth; a brother; and a sister.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 26, 2011, at Noon, at Stendeback Family Funeral Home/Kittinger-Fair in Carmi. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of service in the chapel. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
