Ethel Gwaltney
Ethel Gwaltney age 81, of Carmi, passed away Monday, March 28, 2011. She was born on January 28, 1930, the daughter of Paul and Gertrude (Jordan) Gwaltney in Burnt Prairie TWP, IL. Ethel worked for 36 years as an Operator at the General Telephone Company. She attended Ashland Christian Church.
She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Ted and Lois Gwaltney of Carmi; and a sister Versa Gwaltney of Carmi.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Everett Gwaltney and Charles Gwaltney; and a sister, Edith Gwaltney.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 2, 2011, at Noon, at Stendeback Family Funeral Home/Kittinger-Fair in Carmi. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of service in the chapel. Burial will take place in Centerville Cemetery.
