Paul W. Fishback
Paul W. Fishback, age 84, of Carmi, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2011, at VNA Plus Charlier Hospice Center in Evansville. He was born February 1, 1927, in White County, IL, the son of James M. and Hattie (Forster) Fishback. He married Betty Ritcheson on January 25, 1948 in Carmi and she survives.
Paul had been a pastor in six different churches, including Belleville, Centralia, Olney, Lawrenceville, Galesburg, and Zion, IL. He also drove a truck for Hucks and Little Giant after he retired from full time pastoring. Paul served with the United States Army during WWII. He was a member of the New Beginnings Church of God in Carmi.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Virginia Fishback Jr. of Caseyville, IL; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Ann and Randy Bandy of Fenton, MO; 2 sister-in-laws, Aretha Fishback and Dorothy Fishback, both of Carmi; 5 grandchildren, April Marie VanderVen, Rachael Lynn Fishback, Carl Bauer III, Patrick Wayne Bauer and Scott Bandy; and one great-grandchild, Preston Wayne VanderVen.
He is preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers, Leonard, Harold, Roland, Charlie and Arthur; and two sisters, Reba Cleveland and Marguerite Trout.
A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at New Beginnings Church of God at 7:00 pm. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until the time of service at the church on Wednesday. A private family graveside service will be held Thursday, April 21, 2011, at White County Memorial Garden. Arrangements have been provided by Stendeback Family Funeral Home/Kittinger-Fair in Carmi.
