Nellie V. Erwin
Nellie V. Erwin, age 87, of Carmi, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at Wabash Christian Retirement Center. She was born November 29, 1923, in Eldorado, the daughter of Robert and Susie Bishop Farmer. She married Dallas Erwin and he preceded her in death on August 21, 1970. Mrs. Erwin was a homemaker who enjoyed playing bingo at the Senior Citizen's Center. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Carmi.She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie and Roetta Erwin of Carmi, and gary and Terry Erwin of Republic, MO; two daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Howard Churchwell and Vickie and Tom Moore, all of Carmi; a step-daughter, Betty Martin; a sister and brother-in-law, Ada and Leland Garner of Woodriver; nine grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dallas; two daughters, Delores and Loretta Erwin; one brother; and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 11:00 am, at Stendeback Family Funeral Home/Kittinger-Fair in Carmi. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am, until the time of service in the funeral home chapel. Burial will take place in Kuykendall Cemetery.
