Carl A. "Buzz" Devoy
Carl A. "Buzz" Devoy, 55, of Carmi, died Monday afternoon, Nov. 28, 2011 in Carmi.
He was born June 21, 1956 in McLeansboro, the son of James A. and Marie M. (Mitsdarffer) Devoy.
Buzz worked many years for the City of Carmi. He was a member of the Carmi Masonic Lodge, Elks Club in McLeansboro and the Sons of the Legion at the Carmi American Legion. He loved to hunt and fish, ride his Harleys and was a lifelong and very active pool player.
He is survived by his daughter, Chelsey Devoy of Carmi; one brother, Marion Devoy of Enfield; and a nephew and his family, Jeremy Devoy of Dale. He is also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011 at Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Enfield, the Rev. Mike Buckman officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery near Enfield. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Elks Crippled Children Fund. Condolence message To Chelsey ,daughter, and 'brother' Marion Devoy. I am sorry to hear about the passing of Carl 'buzz' Devoy. I knew buzz for many years as a bartender and all around nice guy. I'm sure he was also a great father and brother. He will be sadly missed by a lot of people as he had many friends. My prayers are with your family at this unexpected time.

Condolence message I was very sad to hear of Buzz's passing. Although I hadn't seen him in about a year or so, I will always remember Buzz as a good guy that tried to do good things for people.
