Charles Crockett
Charles Crockett, age 73, of Maunie, passed away Monday, January 31, 2011, at his home. He was born January 1, 1938 in Tennessee, the son of Charles Jesse Crockett and Connie (Kelly) Shaver. He married Minnie Ellis on May 17, 1996, and she survives.
Charles was the head of the WADI weatherization program for 8 years.
He is survived by three sons and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Liz Tucker of Brownsville, Charles Crockett, Jr. of Carmi and Bruce Merritt of Chicago; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia-Crockett Mulconrey and Scott and Tonya-Crockett Melendez and Mike all of Carmi; two step-sons, Adam George Mathews of Jonesboro and Frankie Ellis Mathews of Sebree, KY; 15 grandchildren, Mark and Eric Erickson, Christopher Buckley, Jessica, Joshua and Dawson Tucker, Nick, Michael and Taylor Hays, Tiffany and Tiniti Crockett, Gina, Keith, Tammy and Jason Wolford; two step-grandchildren, Daniel Ellis Mathews and Tony Jackson; ten great-grandchildren; four brothers, William, George, Roy and Art Crockett and two sisters, Violet and May. He was preceded in death by his daughter Jeanie Lawler.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. On Friday February 4th, 2011 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home/Kittinger-Fair in Carmi with burial in Little Prairie Cemetery near Maunie. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Until service time on Friday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at Kittinger-Fairfuneralhome.com.
